Alfie Vente RMT
Alfie Vente is the owner of Vente-Education, which runs Vente-Education.com. He is a graduate of Sutherland-Chan School and Teaching Clinic in Toronto. He currently is a faculty member at the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy where he has many functions. At the college he teaches Orthopaedic Assessments, Case Studies and Anatomy Palpation 1. He is also a teaching assistant for Massage Treatments.
One of his other important duties at the college is to supervise students at Toronto Rehabilitation Institute where they treat patients who have stroke, acquired brain injuries, and complex continuing care issues.
Currently he is a registered massage therapist who practices at Spine and Sport (a clinic owned by the Canadian Back Institute) where he treats complex orthopedic, sport and neurological injuries.
Alfie Vente believes in evidence-based learning and encourages students to look at information from multiple perspectives. He also understands that there will sometimes be information that is given that is based solely on clinical experience. This type of information is important because clinical experience may over ride theory at certain times. Alfie is a dynamic instructor who uses humour to facilitate learning for his students. He makes his classes challenging and enjoyable. He also demands a great deal from his students when it comes to clinical reasoning. He has written articles for the AMTA Florida, Ohio, New York and Hawaii chapters.
Alfie has held or is holding designations in acupuncture, personal training and clinical exercise. He has two main interests when it comes to treatment and research Orthopaedic injuries and neurological conditions. He is passionate about his industry and wants to make a positive contribution. He feels that he can make an international impact using his dynamic skills as an instructor, instructing seminars, workshops and being the moderator and primary researcher and producer of this site.
